Ruth Krueger Duttweiler, 93, of Princeton, NJ, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2018. Ruth was born on May 4, 1924 in Snyder, NY, to Walter W. Krueger and Hazel Pearl (Landgren) Krueger. She graduated from Amherst Central High School in 1942 and received her R.N. from the Buffalo General Hospital School of Nursing in 1945. In 1946, she married the love of her life, Alfred. F. Duttweiler, Jr., with whom she raised four children. He preceded her in death in 2000.
She played golf for many years and loved to knit, do needlepoint, do crossword puzzles, and play cards and board games with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Over the course of her long life, she lived in many places, including Ann Arbor, MI; Dayton, OH; Erie, PA; Sarasota, FL; Boothbay Harbor, ME; Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; Amesbury, MA; and Princeton, NJ. During the time she lived in Princeton from 2000 to 2007, she became a deacon of the Nassau Presbyterian Church, and this work was particularly rewarding for her.
She is survived by daughters Ellen (Richard) Roffis of Princeton; Ann (Tom) Himmel of Salisbury, MA; and Mary Warner of Vienna, VA; son Mark Duttweiler of Satellite Beach, FL; grandchildren Christopher (Erin) Himmel of Amesbury, MA; Whitney Himmel of Portland, OR; Jonathan Warner of Richmond, VA; and Samantha (Daniel) Peifer of Midlothian, VA; and her beloved great-grandchildren Maggie, Charlie, and Sophie Himmel. Burial of ashes will be private.
