Caroline Gemma Koski

Caroline Gemma Koski, age 87, of West Windsor, N.J., passed away on July 6, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at Artis Senior Living.

Born in Union City, she would later attend St. Aedan’s Academy for girls in Jersey City. Working full-time after graduating from high school, she supported herself through night school and earned a BA degree from Seton Hall University. It was at a Seton Hall Christmas dance that she would meet the love of her life Edward F. Koski. They truly danced the night away.

Years later Edward and Caroline would marry at St. Aedan’s Church, have a daughter Linda and move to River Edge. Caroline was a very active participant in community activities. For more than 50 years she was a decorated member of the Woman’s Club of River Edge, holding several titles including President. Caroline always enjoyed the companionship of her friends as they worked towards helping others in need.

After Caroline’s dear Edward passed away in 1985, she eventually decided to move into a new home at The Village Grande in West Windsor to be closer to her family, especially her three loving granddaughters, Kristen, Jessica and Ashley. She thoroughly enjoyed vacations with Linda, Neil and the girls to ski resorts in Colorado.  Day trips to Spring Lake were also cherished, as they listened to the sea gulls and watched the ocean waves along its delightful boardwalk. The family also had many great memories of visiting her beloved brother Edward G. Wilton and his wife Joan at their lake house. Boat rides on Upper Greenwood Lake and fishing off the dock provided hours of summertime fun.

Caroline enjoyed art, cooking, playing cards with her friends and family members and volunteering in West Windsor. She lived life to the fullest and will be remembered by her family as their precious “sweet peaches.”

Caroline is preceded in death by her dear husband Edward, parents Edward and Catherine Wilton, brother Edward Wilton and her grandparents William and Clara Hyle.  She is survived by her daughter Linda and her husband Neil, and three granddaughters; Kristen, Jessica and Ashley, sister in-law Joan Wilton and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen.
