Robert F. Mooney, 91, died Friday, April 5th, 2013 of natural causes, surrounded by family. A lifelong resident of Princeton, Bob was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in the Pacific during World War II. Bob retired from the Borough of Princeton after 34 years as the Clerk and Administrator . Bob also faithfully served the Princeton Fire Department for over 70 years, and was Chief in 1964. An avid golfer, Bob also enjoyed fishing, the Jersey shore, and the New York Yankees. Son of the late John Sr. and Anna Grace, predeceased by his wife Helen Yeaton Mooney, his brothers John Jr and Bill, Bob is survived by his sister Marge, three children, Robert and wife Kathy, his daughter Janice, and son John and wife Cheryl, and two grandchildren, Ellen and William. Friends may call on Tuesday, April 9th at the Mather Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Avenue, Princeton, NJ from 7pm to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, April 10th at Saint Paul's Church, 214 Nassau Street, Princeton. Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial scholarship fund of Mercer Engine Company #3, 363 Witherspoon Street, Princeton or the Princeton Hospice, 208 Bunn Drive, Princeton.
