Richard Duff Williams, 76, of West Windsor, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.
Richard was born and raised in Cambuslang, Scotland. At the age of 16, Richard took to the seas as a deckhand. It was there he found his love for the ocean. He rose through the ranks to become a Captain. During his time on the seas he was part of the United Kingdom’s Merchant Navy. After sailing much of the world transporting petroleum, Richard relocated to the United States where he was promoted to Port Captain in Manhattan, NY with his company and has spent the last 40 years residing in New Jersey. After retiring from this position, Richard continued contributing to his adoration of the seas and the ships that sail them by working as an inspector of large oil tankers.
Dick, as he was affectionately known, was a generous man and always concerned for the safety of others. Away from work he was a golf enthusiast. When he was not away for business he would spend most of his free time at the Cranbury Golf Club. He also enjoyed watching all sports on television, especially the Philadelphia Eagles.
