William P. Torpey, 61, of Monmouth Junction, NJ died Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick surrounded by his loving family.
Born in the Bronx, NY, he grew up in New Hyde Park, NY and has been a resident of Monmouth Junction, NJ for the past 29 years. Bill's current position was the Managing Director, GWIM Infrastructure Control and Governance Group for Bank of America and had been with Merrill Lynch/Bank of America for over 30 years.
He was an Alumni of St. John's University graduating Magna Cum Laude, on the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities, a member of St. Paul's Church and President of their endowment committee. Bill was a fan of all New York Sports teams including an avid Mets Baseball, Giants Football and St. John's Basketball Fan.
William is survived by his wife of 30 years Maryann (Rusch) Torpey, 3 daughters Megan, Kaitlyn and Mary Jean, 2 sons-in-law Andrew Zimmerman and Jonathan Helwig, his mother Margaret (Owens) Torpey, 4 brothers John, Peter, Daniel, Joe, sister Marianne Santorelli, sister-in-law Joan Rusch and a grandson on the way.
The funeral will be 8:30 am on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home 40 Vandeventer Avenue, Princeton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am on Saturday, St. Paul's Church 216 Nassau Street. Burial will follow in the Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick, NJ. Friends may call on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 6-8 pm and on Friday February 16, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
