Obituary of Stephen Edward Young

Stephen Edward Young passed away suddenly but peacefully in his sleep on August 11, 2018. Stephen was born on May 28th, 1984 in Red Bank, NJ. Stephen was  a 2002 graduate of Moorestown Friends School, a 2006 graduate of Rutgers Cook College Animal Science Department and  went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. Georges Veterinary School in Grenada, West Indies in 2015.

Stephen is survived by his parents, Rev. Dr. Greg and Cindy Young, his brother Andrew and his wife Krissy, his nephew Elliott and his Aunt Carolyn, Uncle Rob and cousins, Lauren and Katie Dzoba and his great-uncle AlynRoos. He leaves behind his beloved fiancée, Dr. Ashley Luddington and her family in Bountiful Utah and his long-time best friend Dave Hasner.

Stephen was an amazing man; dedicated to family, friends, his beloved cat Barry and the love of his life Ashley. He served the animal kingdom with such passion and gave his heart and soul to his career. He had recently started a wonderful job with people that he loved and that equally loved him.

Stephen touched every life that he came in contact with. From his genuine warmth and off-beat sense of humor to his soulful laugh, people were drawn to him and his strengths. Stephen was adventurous, perpetually optimistic, focused, and dedicated to anything that he set his mind to accomplish. He never judged anyone and was loving of all that crossed his path. He was kind, forgiving, and never held a grudge. If you ever were fortunate enough to meet Stephen, you could never forget him.

A service to celebrate Stephen’s life will be held on Saturday September 15, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the United Methodist Church of Red Bank NJ, 247 Broad Street, Red Bank NJ 07701.
