Born in Princeton, he was a lifelong resident and attended St. Paul’s School and graduated from Princeton High School. He received his Business Management degree from Salem College in West Virginia. He was the owner and operator of Joe’s Mill Hill Saloon in Trenton for over 25 years. In 1996, Joe received an award at the Trenton Jazz Festival for businessman of the year for supporting the culture of jazz in the City of Trenton. He was also a life long runner and martial arts enthusiast. In the later part of his career, Joe was owner and manager of properties in Trenton and elsewhere in Mercer County.

Joe had the rare gift to make all those who knew him feel inspired. He was enthusiastic about life and loved a hard days work. He believed in service to others, and was a man of faith. Joe rose everyday determined to do a good deed.
