Laurel Smith La Placa, of Princeton, NJ born on February 22, 1923 passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 at University Medical Center At Princeton. Born in Bridgewater, Bucks County Pa, she resided most of her life in Princeton. Laurel along with her husband Leonard owned and operated Nassau Interiors of Princeton for over 60 years. Mrs. LaPlaca was a Mechanical Draftsman, Interior Decorator Artist and enthusiastic Homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, renovating her homes, entertaining her family and friends. After retirement Laurel and Leonard enjoyed spending time on their farm in Gordonsville, Virginia. Laurel was a member of the Daughters of The American Revolution, The General David Forman Penelope Heart Chapter. Daughter of the late Englebert Geisler Smith and Bertha Robinson Smith of Bucks County Pa, and sister of the late Englebert Geisler Smith jr, she is survived by her husband of 61 years Leonard J. La Placa, Three daughters and their husbands: Laurie L. and James Holladay of Gordonsville, VA, Claudia L. and Michael George of Wallingford, CT, Trinna L. and Rachid BenMoussa of Princeton, a brother, Walter H. Smith of Bucks County Pa., Sister ��"in-law Elizabeth V. Smith, Mabel LaPlaca and her 4 grandchildren James Holladay, Clayton George, Jawed BenMoussa, Noor BenMoussa and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, February 3, 2001 at Westerly Road Church 37 Westerly Road, Princeton. Burial will follow in the Princeton Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday , February 2, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Avenue, Princeton.
