Helen Randall Seckel, 88, died peacefully Sunday, September 30, at her home in Princeton NJ. Born Helen Jane Randall November 19, 1921 in Glen Cove NY, she grew up in Leonia NJ and spent summers in New Paltz NY. She married Edward Seckel in 1948. They lived and worked in Buffalo NY and Princeton NJ while raising their children Deborah Ann and David, before retiring to Siasconset MA. Helen traveled broadly: living a year in Kanpur India and three years on the Mediterranean before sailing back across the Atlantic. She had a deep appreciation of the arts and a love of the natural world. She gave generously of her time as a University docent, charity volunteer, and hospice aide. Helen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David and Maureen Seckel and their children Lauren Walker and Maxwell Seckel, Jodie and Christopher Shields, grandchildren through her predeceased daughter Deborah Ann Kresh, and six great grandchildren. Funeral service and burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of The Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, Princeton.
