Reading of Eleanor's passing reminds me that it is a privilege, and a joy, to spend time with vibrant, creative people like her, and yet how often we do not take the opportunity to appreciate what they bring to the world. I worked with Eleanor at Micawber for too brief a time. We talked about art, and importantly her art, but I wish with all my heart that I had taken more time to see her work... and let her know how wonderful it is. She was a bright spirit and I believe what she created will continue to grow in prominence. God bless her and her family.

I worked with Ellie at the Whole Earth Center for many years. Her cheerful greetings to everyone, every morning, made the start of each day better for all of us. And she wouldn't take no for an answer: if I, already busy and distracted, merely grunted instead of saying a cheerful "good morning," she called me out. But always with a smile. She was smart, interesting, talented, and compassionate. May she rest in peace. Alex Levine
