I met Judith sometime in the mid 1980's. We worked in the same government agency but in different units but somehow connected. She was always a sophisticated woman who brokered no foolishness unless devised by herself. We enjoyed dry vodka martinis and good conversation. Also bridge became our mutual addiction. We had a regular game with Brent and Bill on Tuesdays after work. But at some point we lost each other in the 1990s. It wasn't until my own retirement in 2007 that we reconnected. Since then Wednesdays became our day. We would lunch somewhere and enjoy each others company. Eventually we started playing bridge at the local duplicate club in West Windsor. My husband would be included on special occasions for lunch but it was mostly just me and Judith. As her needs became more apparent, I tried to do what I could. I will always feel some regret when it came time for me and my husband to leave the area. As a tear falls down my cheek, Judith, I will miss you today and forever.
