Ruth A. Casparius, 94, of Robbinsville died Thursday, May 28, 2020 at home. Born in Mannheim, Germany she resided in Manhattan, NY, Ridgefield Park, NJ, Howell, NJ and Bradenton, Florida before moving to Robbinsville, NJ.
Daughter of the late Emil and Cornelia (Feibelmann) Loeb, wife of the late Alfred Walter Casparius, she is survived by her 2 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, and 3 grandchildren, Richard N. and Gemma Casparius, Edward W. and Judith Casparius along with her grandchildren Allison Casparius, Andrew Casparius, Melissa Casparius and her husband Umair Naeem will miss her quick wit and warmth forever.
Ruth as a young girl of 13 years was part of the Kindertransport which left Nazi Germany on July 7, 1939 to arrive in London, England and shortly thereafter resided in Scotland. She learned English, survived WWII and traveled to the United States in June 1949.
She worked as a dental hygienist in NY where she met the love of her life in a dental chair. Alfred Walter Casparius and Ruth Loeb were married on July 26, 1952.
She was an amazing woman always looking forward, exploring and traveling the world while never dwelling on the horrors of WWII which caused her family to perish. She loved to garden, was an amazing cook and a killer crossword and sudoku player.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests donations be made to Penn Medicine Princeton Hospice who provided care in her final days.
