Victor Maccagnan, Sr., 88, of Princeton died Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hackensack, NJ he resided in Hightstown for 36 years before moving to Princeton in 2011. Victor was a graduate of Amherst College (BS), Georgetown University (JD), and held several other advanced degrees from various universities. He was also a United States Air Force Veteran. Victor was a lifelong educator and taught at Columbia Prepatory School in Washington DC, Berwick Academy in South Berwick ME, and The Peddie School in Hightstown. He retired from Peddie in 2010 with over 37 years of service as Dean of Students and a history professor.
Son of the late Angelo and Nella (DeRochi) Maccagnan, Sr., husband of the late Mary F. Maccagnan, he is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters (Victor Jr., Suzanne, Michael, Mary, and Thomas), 1 son and 3 daughters-in-law (Christopher, Debbie, Betty, and Stephanie), 7 grandchildren (Kate, Jack, Grace, Matthew, Justin, Sydney, and Taylor), and one great-grandchild (Jude). Victor is also survived by 3 brothers (John, Marino, and Angelo) and 1 sister (Angie).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am on Monday, July 20, 2020 at St. David the King Church 1 New Village Road, Princeton Junction.
In lieu of flowers, Victor’s wishes were that people consider donating in his name to The Peddie School at Peddie.org/give to make a gift in Victor's memory.
