Betsy and I enjoyed great “reunion” lunches with Bob when he came with his family to fish the AuSable River in the Adirondacks.

Bob and I have know each other since grammar school, his mom was my teacher at Roosevelt school in Utica,NY.
We continued our friendship in high school at Utica Free Academy. Many years passed after high school until , we reconnected at one of our high school reunions. Bob as is his nature offered to assist with the ‘statistics’ of our class by updating all, of over 375 classmates! He has been a true asset and organizer of all that needed to be done! His passing is more than just a loss of a very dear friend.
My most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the entire Garver family.

In the almost 34 years I’ve known Mr. Garver, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him without a smile. Even at my own father’s memorial service, he wore a comforting half-grin that clearly conveyed the depth of his empathy for my family and for me. He was one of the kindest people I’ve ever been blessed to know. My deepest sympathies and prayers go out to Mrs. Garver, Tom, Rob, Jen, Karin, and the extended Garver clan.

John and I were so sad to hear of Bob’s passing. Bob and his wife Betty Ann are the kindest and friendliest people. I’m going to miss seeing him drive around the neighborhood. He always had a smile and a wave and something nice to say. I hope Betty Ann and the rest of Bob’s family will be ok and wish them strength in the upcoming days. I hope I can help out in anyway that might be needed.

Bob was a wonderful man and will be dearly missed. I grew up in the neighborhood in West Windsor and his daughter Jennifer was my first best friend. I always admired his demeanor and his love of the outdoors and canoeing. His presence and voice was always felt in the early days of St David’s.
Bob remained a dear friend to my parents and for several years he was the photographer for our annual charity event to benefit the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. He always captured those days brilliantly and was incredibly gracious with his time. My heart goes out to Betty Ann and the entire Garver family.

May you find supernatural strength in this time of sorrow. Prayerful condolences from Shelly and I to Tom and all of the Garver family. Although we never had the pleasure of meeting him, hearing Tom speak of him made it evident he was a kind and gentle soul. May a fresh heavenly breeze envelope your family as you remember him.

Bob was a member of the Ridgewood Raider sandlot ball club in Utica, NY in the late ‘50’s. To a man, every Raider respected Bob tremendously. He was a class act all of his life. It’s a sad day for all of his boyhood teammates and pals. RIP Bob.

Bob was the president of our class at Utica Free Academy and was loved and respected by everyone,
I considered him as a lifelong friend. At the 50 year reunion in 2010, I led a prayer service at Our Lady of Lourdes
Roman Catholic Church for the deceased members of our class, almost 100!
When we heard that he was sick, I asked my classmates to lift him up in prayer, via Facebook.
Now, the Lord has called Bob home to celebrate His birthday in the Heavenly Kingdom!
I know I speak the sentiment of most,if not all of his classmates, in offering our condolences to BettyAnn, his family, and
a mulultitude of his friends all over the world! I will pray for his soul at my two Christmas Masses in Miami and Delray,
Florida. Well done, good and faithful servant, come now, and enter the rewards of Heaven, which eye has never seen,
nor the heart of man has conceived! Til we meet again in the Heavenly Mansions, (Rt Rev) Edward G. Kakaty
