I’ve only just heard the sad news of Alan’s passing , and send my deep condolences to the family. I had the pleasure and privilege of working with Alan for several years at Reed Construction Data and in addition to respecting his abilities, work ethic and professionalism, also always enjoyed his engaging company. Our shared passion for the theatrical pursuits of our children was a common theme, but he was always a wide ranging conversionalist and a valuable and much liked and respected team member. I will always think of Alan with fondness. Sincerely Iain Melville Former CEO, RCD.

Thank you Everyone for your kind words and memories. Our family and I are deeply touched. Alan's essence and love will always live deeply in our hearts. His sense of wonder of the stars and cosmos is no longer a mystery to him. He is now resting free of the human condition in God's embrace.

Words cannot express how sorry I am for the Jacobs family. I had the pleasure of meeting Alan a mere handful of times over 13 years ago and he had made such a grand impression on me that to this day I can recall every moment of every exchange we had. A glimpse into his life as described above comes as no surprise as the person I got to know all those years ago was sure to have led a life full of adventures and joy with his loving family.
As a father of a young daughter, I often reflect upon my observations of his relationship with Arielle and I recall thinking at the time, this is what a true father looks like. Funny how we take for granted how powerful an impact we can have on others even when the encounters are but a blink of an eye. To the family I pray for your strength and wish you much love and light as you heal. Alan, May you Rest In Peace.

Dear Jacobs Family,
I wanted to reach out and offer my deepest condolences for your loss. Though I only knew Alan for a few years, he made a lasting impression on me. Never have I come across such a generous and kind person. I watched, in the moments that he struggled to remember, how he trusted the people around him to help him through. To me, that is a testament to the love that binds your family. A love that I've come to see in every one of you. A love that I know Alan was a tremendous contributor to and benefactor from. I aspire to be as open as he could be in his hour of difficulty. To continue to approach the world around me as a gifted opportunity to learn. I think I will. But only if I'm as lucky to have as wonderful a family Alan has had in you.
My prayers are with him. My prayers are with you.
And if there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask.
Love,
Patrick

Abby, Adam and Arielle, I am so sorry for your loss. I worked closely with Alan at Reed. He took me under his wing as I began my career in sales. I learned so much from him and he was so gracious to share his knowledge with me. We spent countless hours together on business trips where he shared so much about all of you. He loved you all so much and was so incredibly proud of all you had accomplished. He was a great person and a dear friend. I am so blessed to have known him. I will miss him. My deepest regards.

Abby, Adam and Arielle, we are truly saddened with the passing of Alan and feel fortunate to have had the chance to know him. He was a kind and generous man who loved his family and life. I don't ever recall seeing him without a smile on his face. Attached are a couple of photos from our visits to NY and the trip we made to see Adam perform in Once on this Island at Paper Mill Playhouse in NJ. Thank you for sharing Alan with us. We send love and hugs during this difficult time for your family.

We were pleased to have met Alan and Abby in Aruba years ago and established a wonderful friendship. Over the years we met here, there, and everywhere. We met at their home, our home, and our mutual dear friends, Marie n Fred’s home from Aruba.
Alan always shared his love for Abby and his family with a smile on his face and an antidote he wanted to share with everyone.
Enclosed find pictures that we can share with the great times we had together. He will be missed but will always be in our hearts.
Love,
Kathy & Bruce

Dad,
When I think of the word love, I see your smiling face. You showed us what love is by your actions. You loved us all. You showered us with your stories, hugs and kisses, support, strength and compassion that you shared. The love that you've given us continues on being given to everyone that we come in contact with.
Thank you for sharing and showing us what love is. I will continue to lead by the examples of love you've shared. Please give Grandma and Aunt Phyllis a big hug and kiss for us with your infectious love.
