Obituary of Robert J. Kleinhans

Robert J. Kleinhans, 91, of Kingston, NJ passed away on March 6, 2021 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Jersey City, grew up in Highland Park, and settled in Kingston. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1947. He was a former member of the Highland Park First Aid Squad and Kingston Fire Department. Robert retired in 1995 as Executive Director at Tile Council of America. He enjoyed building model airplanes, building model train displays, and sudoku puzzles. Robert and his wife Barbara fostered 8 babies through Catholic Charities. Barbara was the love of his life and he loved spending time with his family.

 

Predeceased by his parents Francis Michael and Florence (Ludwig) Kleinhans, and his wife of 55 years Barbara; he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Christopher and Ann Kleinhans, daughter and son-in-law Kelly and John Creighton, his dear granddog Gracie, sisters-in-law Joyce Buni and Mari Pat Kelly, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 7-9pm and on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 8:30-9:30am at The Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Ave. Princeton, NJ 08542. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00am at St. Paul’s Church, 216 Nassau St., Princeton, NJ 08542. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick.
