Dear Carol, Michael, Susan, Oliver, and grandchildren: I am so saddened to learn of Bill's passing. Please accept my condolences for your family's loss I considered Bill a wonderful mentor, colleague ,and valued friend during his tenure here within the Penn State University's Special Collections Library. I will always remember our many professional road trips to academic conferences, travel to meet with donors, and site visits to appraise collections. On these trips we bonded over sports, shared ethics and values, and our collective efforts to make our profession and workplace better for all. I will miss his sagely advise and reminders to me to always yield to my better angels. His support for my professional growth and development as an archivist and person is something that I wish to pass along as I near the end of my own career. I was fortunate to to have been a departmental colleague and friend to Bill. My heart goes out to all you and wish you comfort and peace of mind as you begin the healing process. God bless you all.
