Alice Harriet Ayars Robbins, 84, of East Windsor Township died Monday, March 18, 2013. Daughter of the late Harold and Effie (Silvester) Ayars, she was born in Houston, Texas on September 9th, 1928. Wife of the late Allen B. Robbins, she is survived by her brother Henry Ayars, two sons Arthur and Sean Joyce, daughter Jennifer Joyce, and four grandchildren, Brendan, Matthew and Lynn Joyce, and Ariella Lafontant. Alice grew up on Mt. Lucas Rd. in Princeton and lived most of her life in New Jersey. As a mother of young children, in Middlebush, she welcomed the neighborhood kids into her home and is still beloved by them today. In her later years, she lived with Allen on beautiful Lake Hopatcong where she enjoyed entertaining her family. She was a gifted poet, artist, voracious reader, world traveler, and student of history. She loved and was loved. She will be deeply missed. The Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home 40 Vandeventer Avenue, Princeton. Burial will follow in the Rocky Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday, from 9:00 am until the time of the service.
