SHATZKIN--Earl Herbert "Herb," D.D.S., age 93, died in Princeton, NJ, on March 23. Much-loved father of Roger and Steve; father-in-law of Wendy Kaczerski and Deborah Uhler Shatzkin; brother-in-law of Julius Spencer and uncle of Karen Brunschwig and Lynn Spencer. His beloved wife of 64 years, Doris, died in 2008. He will be missed by granddaughters Amy, Natasha and Lilianna, as well as by his extended family, colleagues and friends, and friends made in Princeton after moving from Long Island. He leaves a legacy of craftsmanship and compassion through his 54-year dental practice - touching thousands of lives, as well as through his admirable dexterity in carpentry, stained glass and gardening. His quiet athleticism, ironic sense of humor, fairness and kindness also will not be forgotten. A private memorial service will be held later this spring.
