Avgustina F. Moiseyeva, 93, of Princeton, NJ, passed away in the morning on September 23, 2021 at Penn Medicine Medical Center in Plainsboro.
Avgustina, otherwise known as Ina or baba Ina (grandma Ina), was born in Mikhailovskaya Village, Stavropol, Russia to an oil industry engineer and a schoolteacher. As a young person, she witnessed and endured the harsh realities of war-devastated Russia before moving on to continue her education after the war ended. She went to college in St. Petersburg, Russia and lived in the city of Tver for most of her life with her husband Gleb.
Ina was educated as a civil engineer, worked for various state organizations in Russia and taught at local technical schools. She moved to the US in 2000 to reunite with her daughter Natasha’s family and resided at 310 Elm Road, Princeton, NJ.
Avgustina was fond of gardening and grew a variety of flowers, fruits and vegetables in her garden. She kept her memory sharp by doing crossword puzzles, reading information in various books, articles and encyclopedias, and sharing stories of her life in Russia with family. Ina loved to sit with family and friends and chat over a cup of tea.
She is survived by her daughters, Natasha Kagan of Plainsboro, NJ and Elena Lazareva of St. Petersburg, Russia, as well as five grandchildren and six great grandchildren from their respective families. Her husband, Gleb Moiseyev, passed away in 1980 in Tver.
Memorial Service will be held at 4pm on September 25th, 2021 at The Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Avenue, Princeton, NJ.
