Dorothy Ann “Doris” Dinardo passed away peacefully after a 2 year courageous battle with brain cancer on Monday, January 24, 2022, at the age of 75. She was born on July 29, 1946, in Newark, NJ where she grew up and lived most of her life in Bloomfield, NJ but moved in 2018 to Monroe, NJ.
Doris worked for various companies throughout her career as a Bookkeeper and her last company of employment was at Arnold K. Davis Insurance Company that was based in New York.
She is survived by her husband Ernest Dinardo, a daughter Justine DiNardo-Lim and her husband David Lim, a son Christopher DiNardo, a brother Salvatore LaBella his wife Linda LaBella, 2 grandsons Myles David Lim and Mason James Lim,dogs Jeter and Hershey and a loving step-mother Judi Kornhauser. Predeceased by her father Salvatore (Sam)Labella, brothers Robert (Bobby) LaBella and Paul LaBella.
She graduated from Saint Vincent Academy, Newark in 1964. She married the love of her life Ernest “Ernie” DiNardo on October 14, 1967, at St. Joseph’s Church Newark, and have been together over 54 years.
Devoted, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend. She loved being a mother and was over the moon once her grandchildren were born. She loved and cherished spending time with Myles and Mason. Doris liked music, dancing, reading, traveling, going down the Jersey Shore especially Cape May and going to Atlantic City with her husband Ernie. She enjoyed going to concerts, plays, restaurants, shopping and watching the NY Yankees. She enjoyed and had great pleasure spending time, laughing, smiling with her family and friends. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to her. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. Her thoughtfulness, generosity, pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at St. David the King Church 1 New Village Road, West Windsor. Burial will be private. The family plans on having a Celebration of life in the Spring.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home.
