Kathy and family…
I'm sorry I never got to meet you because of the distance between here and there. But for the past year, I have probably spent more time talking to Joe than I have anyone else due to working with him so closely. I miss talking to him already and he leaves an empty spot in each day. I pray that you all find peace and comfort in his absence.

I remember Joe before I joined AT&T because he was in the interview panel for me and the only one who asked me questions about .NET technology, which I happily answered to him. After I got onboard, whenever I had a technical doubt, I was directed to ask Joe about it because he would have answers for all such queries. It was evident he had deep knowledge in software engineering. He was always helpful. I am glad I got chances to talk to him and work with him for a brief period of time.
I am shocked by his demise. I wish my comfort to his family in these difficult times.

To the Burek Family - I am so deeply sad to hear the news of Joe's passing. Having worked with him for many years, I will miss his willingness to help and his sense of humor greatly. Quite often our work conversations would spill over to our personal lives in which his love and priority for his family was very evident. Wishing you all peace and comfort during this most difficult time.

A memory - I remember when Joe got his first "real" summer job as a teenager. After he got his first paycheck, he declared he was "rich", quit the job, and took the rest of the summer off.
I will miss you little brother. You had a kind heart, a beautiful soul, and cared deeply for your family and friends. Rest in peace.
