I have fond memories of Mr. Vogt as being a friendly and genuine man. He and Mrs. Vogt were a lovely couple and part of a special friend group. Hoping that all of the wonderful memories of his exemplary life will always bring you comfort, and may he now enjoy the reward of eternal happiness.

To Tom, Susie, and your entire families,
It’s hard to believe that your father’s gone. He was such a strong, permanent, and principled presence, a role model for me and countless other young people. May you all be comforted and may his memory be blessed forever.

Dear, Tom, Sue and Family, We were saddened to hear about you dad. I have many fond memories of your family growing up in West Orange. Your dad was always the same kind, caring person as a close family friend, a neighbor, and even as my High School Assistant Principal. He was always interested in how you were doing and willing to help you out in anyway. Over the years i think he must have helped out everyone in our neighborhood in some way or another. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. Tom Cerutti and Family

Mr. Vogt was my shop and mechanical drawing teacher from seventh to ninth grades. My wife (who also knew him) still laughs when I call out “Frank Vogt, junior high school shop” whenever I employ one of his techniques during woodworking. He gets such a mention when the protagonist in my newest mystery novel calls out the same thing. A wall-hanging I made under his tutelage still decorates my office. I spoke at his retirement dinner. Calling him a wonderful teacher doesn’t even begin to cover it.

I was sorry to hear this. I and my family lived across the street from the Vogt's on Ahern Way for many, many years in West Orange and my late parents and were good friends with Frank and Eileen. They were both there for my late father when my mother passed away suddenly in 1986, and my sister and I never forgot their kindness. I have nothing but warm memories of Tommy and Susan as well. My condolences to Tom and Susan, and I will remember him and your family in my prayers.
