Ronald H. Shissler, Jr., MD, of Princeton, NJ, former longtime Haddonfield resident died on August 12, 2022, age 84, after a prolonged illness; survived by his wife of 59 years, Marcia (nee Facchinetti); daughters Suzanne Roth (Lawrence) of Princeton, NJ, and Janine Shissler(David Bae) of New York City; and three grandchildren Ethan Roth and Augustus and Adelaide Bae. Also survived by his sister, Anne Siebenson of Haddon Heights, NJ.
Ronald graduated from Haddon Heights High School, Ursinus College and Temple University School of Medicine. He trained at Cooper Hospital and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. He served two years in the US Army as a Pediatrician at Ft. Campbell, KY and was discharged as a Major. After the Army, he returned to South Jersey with his growing family.
Ronald grew up in an apartment above a pediatrician’s office, and as a young doctor, he joined the practice that grew out of that office. Together with his partner, Dr. Ludwig Schlitt,he established the Haddon Pediatric Group in Haddon Heights, where he cared for the children of South Jersey for 37 years. When not working, he enjoyed sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, tennis, and family time. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Haddonfield and the Haddon Field Club.
