Howard L. Felsenfeld, 74, of East Windsor, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 22, at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro. Born in Newark, NJ, he resided most of his life in the Princeton Junction/East Windsor area of central NJ. Howard was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, ’70, and Boston University Law School, ’73. He was a member of the Mercer County Bar Association and a practicing attorney for almost 50 years. He believed strongly in the rule of law and equal justice for all.
Son of the late Seymour and Rita (Green) Felsenfeld, he is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Joyce (Painter) Felsenfeld, three daughters, Shari Schwartz (Brad), Kate Hancock (Jeremy), and Melissa Sampson (Walter), and a son, Sean Carroll. He was the beloved grandfather of five: Mason Schwartz, Liam and Abby Hancock, and Walter and Reece Sampson. He also leaves behind two brothers, Arnold Felsenfeld, and Paul Felsenfeld (Judy) and many nieces, nephews, and dear cousins.
Howard was a bright, witty, engaging, easygoing man with a grand sense of humor. He loved life, laughter, and lively banter. His smile was contagious and he could always find a way to see the bright side of life. He loved to travel, read voraciously, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, August 26, 2022 at the Mather- Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Ave., Princeton. Burial will follow at the Brainerd Cemetery, Cranbury.
