Obituary of Barbara H. Perna

Barbara H. Perna, 91, of Princeton passed away on September 2, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in South Williamsport, PA, attended South Williamsport High School, and graduated from Bloomsburg State Teacher College. She moved to Princeton 63 years ago and was a teacher for 35 years at Elementary Schools in the Princeton Regional Schools. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Princeton Italian American Sportsman Club and Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad. She enjoyed coloring, crossword puzzles, word finds, and sudoku. Barbara loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Predeceased by her parents William and Mary (Baker) Hessert, husband Michael J. Perna, and sister Catherine Hessert; she is survived by her son William Perna (Christina Spinelli), and grandchildren Anthony Perna and Anna Marie Perna Brown (Stephen).

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 9:30-11am at St. Paul’s Church, 216 Nassau St. Princeton, NJ 08542. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am. Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery.
