Obituary of Thomas Curtis Feehan
Thomas Curtis Feehan, 84, of East Windsor, New Jersey passed away on October 13, 2022. He was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ. As an adult, he also lived in Belleville, Piscataway, Bridgewater, Howell, and Mantoloking, NJ. He owned a chalet at Alpine Lake in Tannersville, PA where he would stay with family and friends when skiing at Camelback Ski Area. His happy place was the beach though. He spent many summers with family at his beach house in Chadwick Beach, NJ prior to purchasing his condo at Ocean Club in Mantoloking, NJ.
Tom worked as a lifeguard at both Olympic Park Pool in Irvington, NJ and at Jenkinson’s Beach in Point Pleasant, NJ. He was in the military and served in the Army and Army Reserve. He began his career in education by teaching Business Math at Matawan High School for 2 years. He then became a Professor of Business Law and Accounting at Middlesex County College in NJ where he taught for 38 years. Tom also taught several night classes at Somerset County College in NJ. He loved teaching and students often requested to be in his class because he explained the information well and always found a way to incorporate humor into his methods.
He attended Seton Hall University and Seton Hall Prep where he was a member of both the varsity football team and varsity swim team. Tom was inducted into the Hall of Fame twice, once with his champion football team and once as an individual for his swimming and football accomplishments. He was a member of the Central Jersey Ski and Snowboard Club, a certified scuba diver, and lifetime NY Giants fan and season pass holder. Thomas enjoyed skiing, bicycling, bowling, swimming, boating, traveling, and the great outdoors. Most of all he loved being with his family and friends. He was a fantastic listener and had a way to make each person feel special. That truly was his super power along with his amazing sense of humor.
Predeceased by his parents Thomas Francis Feehan and Edna Curtis; first wife Ellenmarie Feehan; and sisters and brothers-in-law Ann Marie and Ernest Geib, Janet McGirl, Dr. Donald Veix and father-in-law, Chester Lukas; he is survived by his wife Karen Ann (Lukas) Feehan; daughters and sons-in-law Deanna Wilson, Ellenmarie Feehan and Robert Downey, Kelly Ann and J Brad Bennington, and Colleen and Kenneth Connors; sister Barbara Veix; 19 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; mother-in-law Ann Marie Lukas; brother-in-laws David Lukas and Hugh Dempsey; sister-in-law Diane Mustra; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
