Please share a memory of Victoria to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Victoria Lawler passed away on December 21st at the age of 64. She is survived by her husband, Jerald Roehling. Vicki dedicated nearly her entire work life to the State of New Jersey. She served as the Director of Administration in the Office of Legislative Services for more than 20 years. She also had a passion for helping others, and spent countless hours tutoring students through the Literacy Volunteers of Mercer County. Her generosity and altruistic approach to life was inspiring. Vicki completed her undergraduate work at Goucher College in Baltimore, MD and received her law degree from Georgetown University in 1978. It was during her studies at Georgetown that she met her husband, Jerald. They were married for 32 years and lived in New Jersey together until 2005. Although Vicki did not have biological children, she was truly like a second mother to her nieces and nephews, including Ronald Lanyi and Madelyn (Lanyi) Blandi (both from Bucks Co., PA), Molly Banks (Portland, OR) and Heidi Smith (Philadelphia, PA). In addition to those mentioned above, Vicki is survived by her sister, Jo Banks (Portland, OR). A private family memorial has been arranged to celebrate her life. In memory of Vicki, contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org). Arrangements are under the direction of the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, Princeton.
