Obituary of Renato Falvo

Renato Falvo, 85, of Trenton died Thursday, January 23, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Soveria Mannelli, Italy he came to America in 1952 and was a resident of Trenton. A well-known tailor, he worked at Croyden Mens Shop, Maury Robinson, and Macy's. He was a member of St. Joachim's Church, St. James Senior Citizens Club, and the Italian-American Soccer Club. Son of the late Bruno and Orsola (Costanzo) Falvo, brother of the late Sante and Angelo Falvo, brother-in-law of the late Irene and Tina Falvo, he is survived by his wife of 58 years Raffaella (Marasco) Falvo of Trenton, two daughters and sons-in-law Orsola and Gregory Buddie, Anna and Louis Costa, Jr. a brother and two sisters-in-law Antonio and Anna Falvo, and Maria Falvo all of Hamilton Township, six grandchildren David and Jennifer Koch, Jennifer and Jessica Buddie, Juliana and Antonio Costa, two great grandchildren Dylan and Angelica, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. As a loving and devoted family man, Renato loved his home, his Italian heritage and favorite soccer team "Inter." Loved for his generosity and good hearted nature by his family and friends, Renato loved good Italian food and homemade wine. He enjoyed classical music, played the accordion, the clarinet and also was a band leader in "Banda Comunale". Renato enjoyed traveling abroad with his wife and family to his native town in Calabria The Funeral will be held 8:30 AM Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home, 2946 South Broad St., Hamilton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 AM Tuesday at Our Lady of the Angels Parish/St. Joachim's Church 20-56 Butler St., Trenton. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Hamilton. Calling hours will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Monday, January 27, 2014 at the funeral home.
