Lucy Pesce, 81, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the University Medical Center of Princeton. Born in Ischia, Italy, she immigrated to Princeton in 1947. Mrs. Pesce retired in 2007 with over 40 years of service as a teacher's aid with Princeton Regional Schools where she devoted her time and energy with young children. She was also a professional seamstress who also enjoyed sewing for her family and friends. She was a member of St. Paul's Church in Princeton. Lucy adored children, loved the beach, sunshine, being outdoors, gardening, and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She avidly traveled to Ischia with her husband and other family members. Lucy had a magnetic personality attracting friends wherever she went. Daughter of the late Michael and Maria (Scotto Di Minico) Cuomo, wife of the late John J. Pesce, Sr., she is survived by a son John J. Pesce, Jr., 2 daughters and 2 sons-in-law Mary Lynn and Vito Rossi, Nancy and Alessandro Massari, a sister and brother-in-law Catherine and Michael Sasso, a brother-in law and sister-in-law Peter and Giovanna Pesce of Lawrenceville, 5 grandchildren Gene Rossi and his wife Lauren, Lisa Dressel and her husband Christopher, John Rossi, Christina Rossi, Francesca Massari, 2 great - grandchildren Ava Dressel, Savannah Rossi and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held 9:30 am on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 from the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home 40 Vandeventer Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 am at St. Paul's Church 214 Nassau Street, Princeton. Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
