John David Kendall, Born, April 5, 1939 in Miami, Florida. He Grew up in Lakeland, Florida Graduated from Lakeland high school, Lakeland, Florida in 1957, Graduated from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida in 1961. He entered the business world with GENESCO in Nashville, Tennessee. He went on to serve with Milliken & Co., Celanese Fibers Corporation, Avtex Inc., and ICF Merchantile. He especially enjoyed an active career in teaching at Fashion Institute of Technology, NY, in the FMM department. He has been a resident of Princeton Jct., NJ since 1970. For fun, he enjoyed playing tennis indoors, Wednesday nights at eight, and outdoors on Saturday mornings.After surviving cancer for over a year, he died on Saturday, March 26, 2011, in University Medical Center at Princeton. He is survived by his wife, Jody, a daughter, Denise, a son, Ken, and six grandchildren: Heather, Alexander, Ian, Samantha, Holly, and Shannon, and two brothers, Harvey and Robert. He would like to be remembered for his love of learning and his pride as a teacher. To honor his spirit, a Dave Kendall Scholarship Fund is being set up to recognize promising FMM students at FIT.
