Joseph Perone, 87, of Lawrenceville died Thursday, January 1, 2015 at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. Born in Princeton, he resided in Princeton most of his life before moving to Lawrenceville. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as Postmaster of Hightstown, in 1985 with over 40 years of service. Joseph was an original member of Barracudas Golf Club. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Hancock. Son of the late Angelo and Philomena (DeGrado) Perone, brother of the late Bruce, Victor, Mario, Alfred, Felix, Angelo, John, Albert, Julia and Mary, father-in-law, of late R. Moses Thompson, he is survived by his wife Margaret Potts Perone, four daughters Jackie (Al) Macli of Newtown, PA, Andrea Lea (Joseph) Quinty of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Holli Thompson of Middleburg, VA, Lisa Perone at home, four grandsons Joseph (Megan) Quinty of West Palm Beach, FL, Jarrett Macli of Penns Grove, NJ, Spencer Macli of Miami Beach, FL, Nathanael Ormsby Thompson of Middleburg, VA, two great grandchildren Olivia and Brooks Quinty, also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 am Friday, January 9, 2015 at St. Paul's Church, 214 Nassau St., Princeton. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the church. Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery, Princeton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Church, 214 Nassau St., Princeton, NJ 08542.
