Mary Elizabeth Brown, 90, of Princeton Junction died Sunday, July 5, 2015 at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. Born in Pomona, KS, she was a resident of San Diego, CA for over 64 years. Mary retired in 1977 with over 20 years of service as secretary to the Deputy Director, Central Staff, for the Department of the Navy, Naval Ocean Systems Center. However, her first job was as a teacher in a one-room school house in Oklahoma. . Daughter of the late Cecil C. and Susan (Shaw) Crooks, she is survived by her husband of 68 years Stanley C. Brown, two sons and two daughters-in-law Richard S. and Marion Brown of Princeton Junction, NJ and James A. and Jenny Brown of Buena Park, CA, two sisters Ida Crooks, Laura Bailey, two Granddaughters Lindsay Jani and Stephanie Brown. Mary enjoyed watching her family grow and cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. During her retirement she was able to travel internationally, complete a full family genealogy, garden and read extensively. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services are private under the direction of the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, Princeton.
