Anthony Santoro, 84, of Princeton died Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Acorn Glen in Princeton. Born in Pettoranello, Italy, Mr. Santoro moved to Princeton in the early 1950's. He retired as an Assistant Manager from a local F.W. Woolworths after 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul's Church, the Princeton Italian-American Sportsmen Club and the Roma Eterna organization. Mr. Santoro was an avid soccer fan. He played semi-professionally as a young man and coached a local soccer team for many years. Son of the late Michele and Annunziata Santoro, he is survived by his wife Esther (Lieggi) Santoro, a son and daughter-in-law Anthony S. and Julia Santoro, two daughters Nancy Santoro and Elsa Marie Santoro, a brother Tito Santoro, two sisters Assunta Pinelli and Vanda Pirone, two grandchildren Kia C. Santoro and Gillian M. Carr, and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held 8:30 am Friday, August 7, 2015 at The Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Ave., Princeton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Friday at St. Paul's Church, 214 Nassau St., Princeton. Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
