Anne E. Toole, 80, of Pennington died Friday, June 10, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Princeton, she resided there for 75 years before moving to Pennington 5 years ago. Mrs. Toole was the daughter of the late Charles Sutphen and Anna (Anderson) Sutphen, and sister of her late brother Harold Sutphen. She is survived by her husband William J. Toole of 59 years, three children, Linda A. Toole and husband David of Columbia, MD, Jane E. Platt and husband Greg of Cream Ridge and Robert K. Toole and wife Patricia of Lawrenceville, nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter, also a special niece and nephew and their children in Ohio, descendents of her brother Harold. Mrs. Toole graduated from Princeton High School and Glassboro State Teachers College. After graduation she worked for the Princeton Regional School System. Anne was a fifty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star as well as an officer of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Princeton Hook and Ladder Fire Company. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and visited all fifty states as well as Canada and Mexico in their Airstream travel trailer. She also enjoyed cruising to the Caribbean, South Pacific and Europe. But most of all she enjoyed her family and the many happy times she had with her many friends. The Funeral will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at The Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Ave., Princeton with the Rev. Dr. George G. Toole officiating. Interment will be at Trinity-All Saints' Cemetery, Princeton. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to call on Monday, June 13, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Anne's memory may be made to the Pennington First Aid Squad or the Hopewell Township PBA.
