Architect Antonio D. Pirone, 81, of Princeton died Monday, September 5, 2016 at home. Born in Pettoranello Di Molise, Italy, he immigrated to Princeton in 1948. Mr. Pirone was the Principal Partner of CUH2A Architectural Firm, Princeton. In 2004 Antonio was knighted as an Italian Cavaliere, the order of merit of the Italian Republic. He was a Co-Founder of the Princeton - Pettoranello Sister City Foundation, He was a member of Italian American Sportsman Club, Princeton Construction Board of Appeals, an Honorary Trustee of the Hun School and Past President of Roma Eterna.
Son of the late Ernesto and Annunziatta (Rossi) Pirone, He is survived by his wife Vanda (Santoro) Pirone, 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law Ernest and Mary Jane Pirone, Marco and Karen Pirone, daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Joseph Tamasi, 5 grandchildren Arianna, Daniella, Emily, Michael and Luca.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am on Thursday, September 8, 2016,
St. Paul’s Church 214 Nassau Street, Princeton. Burial will follow in the Princeton Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
There will be no calling hours.
