I enjoyed working with Katharine as a wonderful colleague at Lawrenceville. she had grace, an independent spirit pulled by what she thought was right and good. Her students and I benefited from a rare mixture of humility, intelligence, beauty and generosity of spirit.

I knew and admired and very much liked Katherine throughout her time at Lawrenceville. There was no one kinder--also no one brighter, but her kindness glowed, as did her humor. I'm so sorry to hear of her passing and send my condolences to David and all of Katherine's family.

Dearest David, Becky and Julie
I was deeply saddened to hear of Kate's passing away.
Kate was so truly remarkable and special. I will always remember her kindness, patience and generosity towards me and Kari when we lived as extra children in your home. Never a harsh word, always patient and that lovely way she laughed with that distinctive glitter in her eyes. She will be so missed and her memory cherished.
My heartfelt sorrow and condolences to you all.
Love Lisa

This obit is a sweet and very informative life account of a truly wonderful person. From my earliest memories of my Aunt Kate, I treasured every moment with her because of her gentle kindness combined with her love of learning (both in herself and vicariously in others). She would engage us in games that required different kinds of thinking and were always fun and never cutthroat. At the same time she was one of the most generous people I knew--especially with her attention and focus.
Dave and Julie and Becky, you and we have lost a dear family member and I continue to keep you in my heart and mind. You all carry with you everyday so much that is from Aunt Kate. May God continue to give you the strength that you show in continuing to live life the way she would have wanted.
with much love from Dar
