Pauline Mazet passed away on January 8, 2017 at Hunterdon Care Center. Born in Fanwood on Sunday, Sept. 7, 1913, Pauline was the oldest of 13 children. She resided in Plainfield for more than 70 years before moving to East Amwell, NJ, 1985.
As a young woman, she was a sample maker for the Star Dress Company of Plainfield. She is best remembered for her hospitality, and skill in the kitchen, making her home holiday central. While encouraged to open her own Italian Kitchen, she reserved her cooking skills for her family and friends with the best homemade ravioli, manicotti, and torte which she passed on to her Sons. This matriarch of the family ruled with the strictest discipline insisting on respect and strong family values.
Wife of the late Anthony Mazet, Sister of the late Mary Prisco, Florence Thompson, Ann Battoni, Carmela Secero, Louise Brinkerhoff, Clem Battoni, Neil Secero, Louis Secero and Dominic Secero, she is survived by her Sister Margaret Randazzo, 3 Sons and 3 daughters-in-law Anthony and Sharon Mazet, Robert and Jean Mazet, Gary and Dale Mazet, her Grandchildren, Gary R. and Shirly Mazet, Gary A. and Paula Mazet, Kathleen and Robert Schmitt, Anthony L. Mazet, Thomas J. Mazet and her Great Grandchildren, Robert and Grace Mazet. She is also survived by many Nieces and Nephews that meant the world to her.
Friends may call on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 7-9 pm at the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home 40 Vandeventer Avenue, Princeton. Burial will be private in the Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
